Studying history enables us to develop better understanding of the world in which we live. Building knowledge and understanding of historical events and trends, especially over the past century, enables us to develop a much greater appreciation for current events today.
Ah-ha!! I remember my mom telling me this really dūmbāss story of mine. So, these were my early days when I just started learning the rollers. I don't know, I was maybe 8 or 9 y/o at that time. There's always an inner thing whenever you start to learn something new, like "I'm on fire, I'm so gonna burn the skating ground with my skills" and all, I was frēaking full of those emotions.... So, there was this guy who was, kind of, proficient in skating. He was 15 y/o, I guess. He was a boastful type of person too.
So, my mom says that he was talking too highly of himself around some tēen gírls, trying to make up a solid impression on them. Watching this, I jeopardized myself and boldly moved towards him. I started talking and the first words I said to him were, "Beat it, kid! Don't try to oversmart these girls, eh! This world ain't big enough for both of us, YOU and ME on the track, right NOW! Let's see who's gonna get these gírls at the end!"
After listening to these words, my mother who was standing right next to me burst into laughter like hell... the gírls standing there said to me, "We are all yours, kid!" and they too laughed out hard.
Now, whenever my mom tells me this story of mine, I'm always like, `what the hell was on my mind that day?` It was too dūmb!
