Answers & Comments
Answer:
ii) A basic salt is any salt that hydrolyzes to form a basic solution. Another definition of a basic salt would be a salt that contains amounts of both hydroxide and other anions. White lead is an example. It is basic lead carbonate, or lead carbonate hydroxide.
iii) Neutral salt : A salt resulting from the neutralization of an acid by a base and having no acidic or basic character, especially when dissolved in water.
Example: NaCl
3. Copper chloride : CuCl₂
Ammonium Sulphate : (NH₄)₂SO₄
Potassium Carbonate : K₂CO₃
Sodium acetate : NaCH₃COO
Magnesium Phosphate : Mg₃(PO₄)₂
Aluminium Chloride : AlCl₃
Sodium Nitrate : NaNO₂
Calcium Sulphate : CaSO₄
Yes hydrochloric acid is useful for us. The hydrochloric acid in the gastric juice breaks down the food and the digestive enzymes split up the proteins. The acidic gastric juice also kills bacteria. If it is produced in excess ,than it will result in acidity , ulcer ,or inflammation. It can be cured by neutralizing the excess acid by mild base like Milk of Magnesia , ENO etc.
