Poor environmental sanitation is one of the most contributing factors health
problems. Population growth, human activities and urbanization may cause
destruction and harm the environment Waste and chemicals contaminate water and
air that causes pollution which threaten the people's health in community.
1. Respiratory Diseases
Disease that affects the lungs and other parts of the respiratory system.
Common Respiratory Ailments
a. Common cold is one of the common respiratory sickness due to poor
environmental sanitation. When you experience itching or sore throat, runny
nose, sneezing, pasal congestion, watery eyes, and muous drainage, then you
have the symptoms of the common cold. The common cold is a viral infection
of the upper respiratory tract caused by many different viruses.
b. Influenza or Flu is similar to the common cold but more severe. A person
with flu suffers from fever, cough, chills, muscle ache, and fatigue.
o. Pneumonia is an infection of lungs caused by bacteria or viruses.
Exhaustion and fatigue make us susceptible to pneumonia.
d. Bronchitis is an inflammation of the lining of brochial tubes. The most
common symptoms of bronchitis are cough and breathlessness.
e. Emphysema is a long-term lung disease that can get worse over time. It is
usually caused by smoking,
f. Asthma is an allergic reaction to certain substances in the air, such as
pollen, animal hair, dust, mold, and certain kinds of food.
Tuberculosis commonly known as TB, is a disease of the lungs caused by
bacteria called Microbacterium tuberculosis.​
