Pick a topic of your choice. Write about your chosen topic for a particular purpose; it is either to inform, to persuade, or to entertain. Organize your composition into three parts: introduction, body, and conclusion.
As citizens of the Philippines, face the current generation is how we abuse our Freedom of expression through social media. According to (www.cube.lv, 2022), Freedom of expression is a democratic necessity. It facilitates the free interchange of ideas, opinions, and information, allowing citizens to establish their perspectives on public matters. In this modern generation, where the rise of technology has been accessible by many people worldwide and has allowed people to create a faster way of communication as quick as a click, individuals have acquired express their opinions on different issues. In line with this is the topic that I have chosen based on what I see primarily as I use my social media and see things regarding the recent election; the issue of the conflict among how people use their Freedom of speech to support their chosen political candidates.
In the past couple of decades, digital technologies have profoundly impacted elections. Internet platforms have dramatically improved voters' access to and interaction with information about candidates and political parties. Using free blogs, video-sharing sites, and social media, political parties, especially tiny ones, can reach more significant audiences with fewer resources. One of the recent issues that have significantly impacted Freedom of expression is how people abuse it to spread hatred among political candidates that oppose their chosen political candidates.
As a student in this modern generation, who has the skill to distinguish between moral and immoral behavior and is educated on an ethical way of living, I feel bad and disappointed with those issues that I have asserted in my prior statements. People are given Freedom of expression to maintain democracy, which puts the country and its citizens at peace since people can express their emotions through the government and hold them accountable for the actions that may affect them and the nation. Abusing the Freedom of expression won't put the country in a good position nor help us achieve the economy we aim for. It would only stir a divide between the people who believe in certain opinions and those who believe differently. It's sickening to see that there are people who formulate fake scenarios or texts just to misinform audiences about a certain political candidate just because they do not support it.
