A sea breeze or onshore breeze is any wind that blows from a large body of water toward or onto a landmass; it develops due to differences in air pressure created by the differing heat capacities of water and dry land. As such, sea breezes are more localised than prevailing winds.
The relationship of sea breeze and land breeze to the temperature of an area is when the land is at a higher temperature than the neighbouring water, the air above it is heated and rises. The air at lower levels is replaced by cooler air advected from the adjacent ocean areas. Coastal temperatures are regularly impacted by sea breezes.
