PARAGRAPH 2.

During the past few decades, cities have expanded to the point that nearly 50% of the world's population currently resides in metropolitan regions.
There are various reasons for this occurrence.
First, the nineteenth century's growing industrialization led to numerous factory jobs, many concentrated in urban areas.
Many people from rural areas were drawn to these employments by the promise of a better material life.
Second, many schools were built to provide education for the kids of the new factory workers.
Third, many families moved from rural to urban areas for better educational opportunities.
Finally, residents built leisure, entertainment, and cultural facilities like sports arenas, theaters, and museums as the cities expanded.
For many, these facilities made city life appear more interesting than life on the farm, drawing them away from rural communities.
