DEFINITION:
WORK- Work is a measure of energy transfer that occurs when an object is moved over a distance by an eternal force.
POTENTIAL ENERGY- the energy that is stationary and waiting to be released.
KINETIC ENERGY- the energy that is in motion and actively using energy for movement.
FORMULA:
WORK: W= F×d
POTENTIAL ENERGY: PE= mgh
KINETIC ENERGY- KE= ½ mv²
UNIT:
WORK: J or Joule
POTENTIAL ENERGY: kg m²/s² or J
KINETIC ENERGY: J or Joule
EXAMPLE:
WORK:
F= 30N
d= 5.0m
W=?
N= F×d
=(30N)(5m)
=150Nm or J
POTENTIAL ENERGY:
m= 3kg
h= 0.45m
g= 9.8m/s²
PE= mgh
(3kg)(9.8m/s²)(0.45m)
=(29.4kg m/s²)(0.45m)
= 13.23 kg m²/s² or 13.23 J
KINETIC ENERGY:
m=
v=
KE= ½ mv²
=½ (0.2kg)(6m/s)²
=(0.1kg)(36 m²/s²)
=3.6 J
hopee this helpss :))
