A major vein in your upper body. It carries blood from your head, neck, upper chest, and arms to the heart.
Rightatrium
One of the four chambers of the heart. The right atrium receives blood low in oxygen from the body and then empties the blood into the right ventricle.
Tricuspidvalve
Located between the right atrium (top chamber) and right ventricle (bottom chamber). Its role is to make sure blood flows in a forward direction from the right atrium to the ventricle.
Rightventricle
The most anterior of the four heart chambers. It receives deoxygenated blood from the right atrium (RA) and pumps it into the pulmonary circulation.
Pulmonaryarteries
The pulmonary arteries carry blood from the right side of the heart to the lungs. In medical terms, the word “pulmonary” means something that affects the lungs. The blood carries oxygen and other nutrients to your cells. Your heart is the muscle pump that drives the blood through your body.
Lungs
The lungs provide a place to exchange carbon dioxide for oxygen.
Pulmonaryveins
The veins do the opposite job of pulmonary arteries and collects the oxygenated blood and carry it from the lungs back to the heart.
Left atrium
one of the four chambers of the heart. The left atrium receives blood full of oxygen from the lungs and then empties the blood into the left ventricle.
Bicuspid valve
The valve allows blood to flow from the left ventricle (pumping chamber) to the aorta and prevents blood from flowing backward.
Left ventricle
The left ventricle pumps the oxygen-rich blood through the aortic valve out to the rest of the body.
Aorta
The aorta is the large artery that carries oxygen-rich blood from the left ventricle of the heart to other parts of the body.
