In the Philippines, mental health problems are a major challenge, ranging from serious chronic disorders to numerous conditions in which psychosocial factors play a major role.

At universities, the main objective of the Mental Health Group is to draw on the experience of professionals from all possible specialties and disciplines in order to implement interventions within communities and adequate structures at different levels.
Most of the members of this Mental Health Association have worked together for more than 10 years on issues related to this field such as common mental disorders, suicidal behaviors and mental health in women and adolescents.
