It contains more solute than the saturated solution. In this type of solution, there will be undissolved solute since the excess solutes will crystallize and form a precipitate.
To determine whether the solution is unsaturated, saturated, or supersaturated solution, we determine the saturation point. This is the maximum amount of solute the solvent can dissolve. Less than this, it is unsaturated; more than this, it is supersaturated; and equal to the saturation point is saturated solution.
