Kumbh Mela or Kumbha Mela is an important pilgrimage and festival in Hinduism.
It is celebrated over a progression of nearly twelve years, to dedicate every revolution Brihaspati (Jupiter) completes, at four river-bank pilgrimage sites which are Allahabad (Ganges-Yamuna-Sarasvati rivers convergence ), Haridwar (Ganges), Nashik (Godavari), and Ujjain (Shipra).
The festival is reflected by a ritual dip in the waters, but it is moreover a celebration of national commerce with numerous festivals, education, religious speeches by saints, mass festivities of monks, and entertainment.
