I was upset because I had lost my closest friend, furious because we had fought, but relieved because I didn't have to cope with the stress it had caused me. Since fifth grade, my best friend and I had been inseparable. She had lately been granted permission to begin dating and had begun dating her first genuine boyfriend. I didn't like him, but I attempted to get to know him for her sake.
Every time I tried to invite him to do something with us, he flatly refused and guilted her into accompanying him and his friends elsewhere. Because of his domineering demeanor and continuous attempts to keep us apart, I grew to loathe him.
As our friendship deteriorated, the bonds between me and a few of other people grew significantly stronger. Two of these individuals in particular became good friends of mine. My best friend, on the other hand, despised one of them. She refused to hang out with us every time I invited her since she knew he would be there. I was irritated that she refused to get out with me because of the other people in my life. She became so irritated that she refused to spend out with me even when those folks were not around. She eventually began to spend all of her time with her partner and refused to be seen with anybody else.
But now we're okay, but we're not like before, not the closest anymore.
