The Charcoal painting may be title "Unfinished Horse Drawing" but it is really a finished painting. By closely observing, you'll notice that 3/4 of the Horse is actually drawn in a low-level skill. It is almost like the front portion of the horse is done by a kid. This is intentional because, the artist Ali Bati, shows his professional skill at the rear portion of the Horse.
For the Elements of Art, Ali Bati used only Lines for the 3/4 of the Horse. The remaining 1/4, which is the rear, has Elements such as Line, Value, Shape, Form, Texture, and Space. Ali Bati uses cross-hatching to add value and form to the rear of the horse.
For the Principles of Art, there is Emphasis, Movement, and Balance. The details of the rear became an Emphasis of the drawing. The movement of the viewer begins from left to right. The drawing is in Asymmetrical Balance, wherein the 'weight' of the drawing is on the detailed part (right side).
