Maria was curious about whether salt dissolves faster in hot or cold water. She did some research, but she is still confused about it. She asked her mother, and her mother said that salt dissolves faster in hot water. Her mother also told her to do a simple experiment for her to prove it herself. Due to her curiosity, she followed her mother's advice and experimented. She prepared two setups. Setup A- ten grams of brown sugar dissolved in 100 ml of cold water and set up B - ten grams of brown sugar dissolved in 100 ml of hot water. While experimenting, she noticed that set up A dissolved faster than set up B, and she wondered why the result is not similar to the related literature that she has read. She read further literature about the factors affecting the solubility of solid and she realized that the speed of stirring might be the reason why the sugar dissolved faster in cold water. So, she decided to repeat the experiment thrice. She then found out that consistently, sugar dissolved faster in hot water than in cold water in three trials. She accurately recorded the result of the experiment.
