On my own understanding, and on how this story relates to the world is by the moral and values it shows. Like how the lion and mouse had shown good character by forgiving one another. Which resulted the lion to be saved by the mouse in the end, the mouse returning the good favor the lion gave him. So I think this is correlating towards us humans that we should learn to forgive and spare others, because it may just give you good karma.
