Louis Francis Albert Victor Nicholas Mountbatten, 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma (25 June 1900 – 27 August 1979), born and known until 1917 as Prince Louis of Battenberg, then named until 1946 Lord Louis Mountbatten, and then named until 1947 as Viscount Mountbatten of Burma, was a member of the British royal family, Royal Navy officer and statesman. He was a maternal uncle of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and second cousin once removed of Queen Elizabeth II.
