This is an alternating number subtraction series. First, 2 is subtracted, then 4, then 2, and so on. Rule = (first number - 2) (second number - 4) (third number - 2) (fourth number - 4)...... Now The series is 36, 34, 30, 28, 24... (36 - 2 = 34), (34 - 4 = 30), (30 - 2 = 28), (28 - 4 = 24), (24 - 2 = 22)... So the answer is b = 22.
