Action Verbs This type of verb is the one that describes an action. There are two types of action vers and these are transitive and intransitive verbs. Transitive verbs will always have a noun that acts as the receiver of the action or the direct object. the opposite is intransitive verbs that will never have a direct or indirect object. timothy spends most of his time reading Harry Potter books.

Linking Verbs
Their main role is to connect the subject of a particular sentence to an adjective or a noun. It also describes the subject. See the examples below:

They remain calm until the storm ended.
I am glad it is Saturday.
Patricia is excited about her new car.
Helping Verbs
Their responsibilities are to be used before action to convey additional details. They talk about possibilities such as can, could, etc, or time such as was, did, has, etc. See examples below for helping verbs:
Romeo is hiking.
Rae is making a song.
Mr. Castrence was given the grand prize for the songwriting composition contest.
Rence was pleased to be awarded.
