Answer:
OPERATION ON INTEGERS
A. Addition of integers
To add integers having like sign, add the number then copy the sign.
If unlike sign, subtract the number then copy the sign of the bigger number
Ex.
1. 4+5= 9
2. (-5)+(-3)= -8
3. 7+ (-10) = - 3
4. 9 + (-2) = 7
B. Subtraction of integers
To subtract integers always or keep change the sign of the subtrahend, then follow the rules of addition of integers.
Examples.
1. 2 - (-1) = 3
2. (-4) - (-5) = 1
3. (- 6) - 2 = - 8
4. (-7) - (-7)= 0
C. Multiplication of integers
The product of two integers having like sign is positive.
The product of two integers of having unlike sign is negative.
Example.
1. 2 x 5= 10
2. (-4) x (-5) = 20
3. 3 x (-2) = -6
D. Division of integers
The quotient of two integers having like sign is positive
The quotient of two integers having unlike sign is negative.
Examples
1. 12 ÷3 = 4
2. (-8) ÷ (-4) = 2
3. 15 ÷ (- 5) = - 3
4. (-18) ÷ 2 = - 9
