Balance - refers to how heavy or light the design.
Emphasis - deals to the important details the design is indicating or conveying.
Proportion - the size of elements in relation to one another.
Hierarchy - refers to how well content can be processed by people.
Repetition - refers to the repeating of the same colors, typefaces, shapes, or other elements of a design.
Rhythm - forms when elements between spaces.
Pattern - refers to how certain elements are designed.
White Space - also known as "negative space", this is the areas of design that doesn't have anything, in short empty.
