2. In changing direct speech to reported speech, the past tense is used when it is uncertain if the statement is true or when we are reporting objectively.

4. If the verb is simple present, it is change to past perfect tense when the statement is transformed to indirect speech.

5. The modal verb CAN doesn't change when the statement is transformed to reported speech.​
