September 2023 2 3 Report
Johanna and Jason are excited to visit Tosselilla summer-land and want to calculate how many rides they can go on. They estimate that each ride will last around 10 minutes, including walking, waiting, climbing and being on the ride itself.

Let x represent the number of rides. Write an expression for the total time it will take to go on the rides.

They also know that it takes 4 minutes to go from the entrance to the first ride and 4 minutes to get out of the park again at the end. Write a new expression for the total time it will take to visit the park (including taking rides and walking to and from the entrance).

The park is open for 6 hours, or 360 minutes, and they plan to be there for the whole day. Write an equation to show the time spent at the water park.

Solve the equation to determine x. State how many rides they will go on.

When they get there, the water park is really busy. Each ride actually takes 20 minutes because of the extra waiting. Write an new equation to show the time spent at the water park.
