2) During one of your chores, you noticed that the showerhead is covered with a strange green slime. You decided to try getting rid of this slime by using lemonade juice. You sprayed half of the showerhead with lemonade juice and sprayed other half with water. You repeated the for three day by spraying equal amount of lemonade juice and water Three times a day. By the third day you observed that there is no change in the appearance of the green slime on either side of the shower head.

VARIABLES

Designing the procedure of an investigation should look into fair testing.

The variables of the study should be determined to limit any factor that may affect the result of the experiment. A variable is any factor present in the experiment. The three basic variables are the independent, dependent, and control variables.

The independent variable

is the factor that affects the result of the study.

The dependent variable

is the result of the study.

The control variable

is the factor kept constant or controlled throughout the experiment, so that it will not intervene or affect the result of the experiment.

To make sure that the experiment shows a fair test, one independent variable is tested at a time and the rest of the variables are controlled.
