In my understanding, to distinguish fact from opinion is quite easy, especially with clue words. A fact is a statement that can be proven true or false, however an opinion is an expression of a person's feelings that cannot be proven whatsoever. Opinions can be based on facts and emotions and sometimes they are meant to deliberately mislead others.
3. Opinion marking signals are words or phrases used to show feelings, emotions and attitude towards something.
Five examples of opinion marking signals are;
1. Personally, I think this doughnut is better than the store bought ones.
2. It is claimed that drinking coffee is good for you.
3. In my experience, exercising daily does wonders for your health.
