Nonverbal or extra linguistics are very useful especially during pandemic times. As we are supposed to maintain social distancing and shouting to each other will be unethical, body movements and especially hand gestures are useful. (1) A person pointing which way they are going will easily convey to someone near them that they are bound that way. (2) Another example is a mere nod from someone near you may mean an approval for you.
