In this reaction :- H2 + O2 = 2H2O

HYDROGEN undergoes oxidation and the OXYGEN undergoes reduction...

Now, in this reaction :-

C + O2 ----- CO2

when oxygen is added to carbon then carbon undergoes oxidation reaction

But if we see oxygen there what does the reaction oxygen undergoes?

Reduction or oxidation?
