To begin with, let me first define the topics we discussed. Mixture is a substance made by mixing other substances together; homogeneous mixture is a type of mixture that has the same proportions of its components in a given amount of sample; heterogeneous mixture is a non-uniform mixture with visible, individual items or particles; suspension is a heterogeneous mixture of a fluid that contains solid particles sufficiently large for sedimentation; lastly, collods are mixtures in which microscopically dispersed insoluble particles of one substance are suspended in another substance.
I can apply what I learned from the topic by using them in my every day life. For example, through the foods we eat and drinks we consume. I can encounter these topics concerning mixtures, homogenous, heterogenous, suspension and colloids. Mixtures are useful when I want to combine elements of multiple materials into one product. An example is mixture of salt and water. Suspensions can be encountered in daily life such as dust in the air, flour in water and muddy water. Colloids play a very significant role in nature and in our daily life. Some examples are purification of water, medicine and sewage disposal.
