The direction of the falling of an object does not depend on the shape of space. It is attracted by gravity towards the centre of the mass attracting it. I know it looks like stuff falls downward, but actually, it is attracted towards Earth's centre. So, even if space is curved, or square, or any other shape, objects will always fall in a straight line towards the centre of the mass attracting them through gravitation.
