Jack was feeling an overwhelming sense of remorse as he reflected on his latest venture. He had been an optimist, buoyed by the potential success, but had found himself unable to act on the opportunities he had come across. He was growing increasingly annoyed at his own blunt refusal to move forward and boldy take necessary chances. The longer he stayed in a state of feigned activity, covering up his lack of action with pretense, the more frustrating he found himself becoming.
It was clear that something would have to alter if he wanted to break free from this cycle of self-sabotaging inaction. So he decided to push himself to take at least one action each day and not to refrain from striving towards success. He was surprised to find how easy it was to make progress when he was no longer resisting his efforts and was terrified of the immense satisfaction he felt when he gave ample energy to his newly found ambitions.
