Which one dissolves faster the mixed sugar or the unmixed sugar and why?

1. Fill a glass with water. Add 1 tsp. of sugar on it. Stir until the sugar is dissolved. Record the time it takes for the sugar to dissolve.

2. Fill another glass with water. Add 1 tsp. of sugar. Set aside for 60 seconds. Observe what happens.
