myrakincsemPulse Polio is an immunisation campaign that has been started by the government of India in order to eliminate poliomyelitis in India by vaccinating all children under the age of 5 years against the polio virus. The project helps to fight poliomyelitis through a large-scale pulse vaccination programme and monitoring for polio cases.
The project involves setting up of booths in all parts of the country, arranging employees, volunteers, and vaccines, immunising children with OPV on national immunisation days and surveillance of efficacy.
Through this initiative, the public can volunteer at the vaccination booths, spreading the news about the campaign by giving out pamphlets and news articles, providing donations for the vaccines and for other expenses required for the campaign, helping in bringing out all the children below 5 years from rural areas and villages to the booths etc.
Well , i can participate in the pulse polio campaign by many ways . The one of the best way is creating the awareness among others by telling them about the polio and importance of it's vaccination. Also, i can help by motivating the others by gathering them in a place so that they give proper precaution for their children. Moreover the helping of anti-polio team would also be good participation way. Additionally , the posters or social media campaign can be helpful in this regard.
