How do you feel about the golden rule: Do unto others what you would like others to do unto you? What role does it play in your life? What inner and outer consequences have you experienced as a result of applying the golden rule in your life?
The golden rule is there for a reason and it is called golden because of its value.
Explanation:
How would you feel if an acquaintance whom you were talking to, would suddenly ignore you? You probably would ask yourself, "What did I do wrong?" You don't want that feeling. That is why it's important to always do unto others what you want others to do unto you. Since you don't want the feeling of being suddenly ignored, you should also not do that to others.
For me, this is one of the most important rules that we should follow. I believe that if all the people will do this, we will have a peaceful and harmonious community to live in.
Ever since applying this rule in my life, I can say that I have never had any ill feelings toward other people. If for some reason, I have been triggered negatively, I would always bear this in mind, and I would again feel inner peace.
