Resul Pookutty
Resul Pookutty is a world-famous Oscar awardee sound designer who hails from Kerala. He was born on 30 May, 1971 to a family in Vilakkupura, Kollam. Within a short span of 17 years, he completed 30+ notable works in the field of sound engineering. He made his debut in a film in 1997 and got well-known in his highly appreciated work in the film Musafir. He also designed the voice in other major films such as Black, Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja etc. He has made his debut in many languages including Malayalam, Hindi, English and Tamil.
For his excellent showcase of his skills in the English film Slumdog Millionaire, he was given the Academy Award for Best Sound Mixing along with two others in the year 2009. The very next year he was bestowed with the honorary Padma Shri award.
Pookutty was also awarded many other awards such as the BAFTA Award and the National Film Award for Best Audiography for his notable works.
Currently working on the film Aadujeevitham, Pookutty is also noted for sound designing in other films like Unfreedom, Remo, Trance etc.
