If your asking on how I solved it, this is how it is:
Since the denominators are different in number, I multiplied the three denominator in order to arrive in a large number that is divisible by the denominators. Also I did this to compare the fractions easily.
In order to get the new numerators, I divide the new denominator to the old denominator and multiply it to the old numerator.
Example:
a) 1/2, 2/3, 7/9
2 · 3 · 9 = 54 - new denominator
1/2 = 27/54
solving:
54 ÷ 2 · 1 = 27
2/3 = 36/54
solving:
54 ÷ 3 · 2 = 36
7/9 = 42/54
solving:
54 ÷ 9 · 7 = 42
new fractions (can be equally compared already):
27/54, 36/54, 42/54
we can see from here that the fractions are ordered from smallest to largest in value, that explains why the set of fractions in letter a is in Hanay A.
PS. The new fractions and old fractions may be different in our eyes but if you simplify the new fractions, the results are the old fractions. Meaning, the two different sets of fractions are still the same.
