First you stay beside that person. You will explain the thing that he/she to know the things that he/she afriad off. Cheer that person up and dont give up to guide that person.
That person who were coward has a story behind of it, we just need to adjust and understand them
The situatuion is kind of challenging, but if you learned something from them, then apply it. Be kind to them, dont talk harshly or force them to do that you think is good. Let them to learn and stand up to there own and you will be the first person to support him/her.
