Questions:

1. While doing the procedure, I was able to produce sound. When I put my open palm across my throat area.

2. I can feel vibration as I speak out. For me, this is because of the vibration in particles that helps the sound travel from throat and outside the mouth as we speak.

3. We are able to produce sound because of the sound waves travelling from the source, which is the vocal cords or voice box.

Conclusion:

The vocal folds produce sound when they come together and then vibrate as air passes through them during exhalation of air from the lungs. The vibration produces the sound wave for your voice. In order for the sound to be clear, the vocal folds must vibrate together symmetrically and regularly.
