Dance is an activity where you move your body in time with music. Dancing is also a part
of human expression. It can be done alone, with partner, by small group or by a large group. You
can dance in a dance hall, dance floor, court, dance schools, clubs, dance studios, community
halls, or even in your own home. In this lesson we will learn the warm- up exercises before
dancing, basic dance steps, arm/hand positions and lastly the fundamental Dance position.
Warm-up exercises before dancing:
Dancing can be fun if done properly. Before dancing, you need to do the following for 16
counts each.
1. Head bending
6. Hip Rotating
2. Neck Twisting
7. Half-knee Bending
3. Arm Stretching
8. Jumping Jack
4. Arm Circling
9. Jogging in Place
5. Trunk Bending
10. Inhaling- Exhaling
