(I) Ionic compounds comprises ions, hence force of attraction between oppositely charged ions is very strong, and strong heat us required to break the bonding and melt it...hence m.p. is very high.
(ii) Ionic compounds are soluble in water because they comprises only ions...so, since water is a polar covalent compound, the ions are dissociated due to dielectric constant power or water, due to which the ionic compounds dissolve.
(iii) Ionic compounds, in fused or molten state, comprises free mobile ions, which are responsible for conduction of electricity.
Ionic compound NaCl has Na+ and Cl- ions.
