I am living with an English family who appreciates my services. I do not believe that it is the reviews that cause the opinion. This would be ill-advised for your friend Rizal and not very comfortable for him either. At times when I receive information from Europe and Spain, I am inclined to hate all Europeans. However, I shall immigrate to Austria if I cannot immigrate to the Philippines because Austria does not have colonies. For being an Austrian, he has done a lot to help his country and loves it very much. It is interesting to note that Maria Clara, whom we associate today as our modern symbol of femininity, was, in fact, a Rivera. By marrying an English engineer working on the first Filipino railway, she broke his heart. In his early letters to his friend Bluementritt, Rizal wrote from Manila, "The first hammer-blow in the railway has fallen on me!" He had a political explanation; "I do not blame her for preferring Kipping..an Englishman is a free man, and I am not." Rizal to his family, 13th June 1888 (from London)
I am not mistakenly present. I have a bedroom, a small and cozy room for living and a bigger room for studying. The family comprises parents, wife, and children; the wife is named Gertrude, and the children are called Tottie, Sissie, Flory, and Grace. The two younger women are singing and playing the piano; Sissie sings and plays the piano. Either one of the two sons is employed, and he attends church on Sundays. Board and lodging for my trip cost at least $45. Things in England are more expensive than elsewhere around Europe. As Tottie indicated in other books, he was entertaining at the time of the 1881 UK census. I was excited, so I will share it here to inform everyone that the girls of Rizal were verified. Here are the early BECKETT's for 1881. (7 years earlier)
