Pathway of food in the digestive system:
Mouth → Esophagus → Stomach → Small intestine → Large Intestine
↓
Anus ← Rectum
The food will be first enters our mouth to be breaking down by chewing and start digesting with the help of the enzyme salivary amylase. As we swallow the food, it enters the esophagus and by peristaltic movement, it will goes to the stomach for digestion with the help of different enzyme and the stomach acid. The digestive food will then enter the small intestine which the actual site and final site of digestion. The food will then inter the large intestine for the absorption of water and other elements and then goes to the rectum and exit to the anus during defecation.
