What are the part of decimal places and Whole places?
The part of decimal places aretenths, hundredths, thousandths, ten-thousandths, hundred thousandths, millionths, while the part of whole places are ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, ten-thousands, millions etc.
Example (Decimal places):
0.3456
» So, we have decimal places, these are the tenths, hundredths, thousandths, ten-thousandths, hundred thousandths, millionths etc.
0 - ones
. - and
3 - tenths
4 - hundredths
5 - thousandths
6 - ten-thousandths
Example (Whole places):
1234.1
» So, we have whole places, these are the ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, ten-thousands, millions etc.
1 - ones
2 - tens
3 - hundreds

How I round the decimal numbers to the nearest hundredths?
By looking to the left side of hundredths, whether it is large or small numbers rather than hundredths.
» To round the decimal places, we need to look at the left side of the hundredths part.
» If you want to round up or round down the decimal places, we need to add one to the hundredths place and can also not add one to the hundredths place depending on the numbers, whether it is big or small.
Rules:
Round down:
» If the numbers on the left part of the hundredths are 1, 2, 3, 4, will not add one to the hundredths place.
Round up:
» If the numbers on the left part of the hundredths are 5,6,7,8,9,add one to the hundredths.
Example:
0.567
0 - ones
. - and
5 - tenths
6 - hundredths
7 - thousandths
» The left part of the hundredths is 7 (Thousandths), so, the rules is,if the numbers on the left part of the hundredths are 5,6,7,8,9,add one to the hundredths.
» So, 6+1=7,so our answer is 0.57.
why did i disjunct the thousandths place (7)? because it's rounding up to hundredths places, so it's disjunct, in tagalog, "dahil ito ay ang pang-round up sa hundredths place, kaya naman ito ay tinanggal".
