Hi
we have to find
he largest number which divides 615 and 963 leaving remainder 6 in each case
'so fistly we have to subtract 6 from both numbers
=>615 - 6 = 609
=>963 - 6 = 957
we are subtacting
the given remainders from both numbers from both number because ,we should get remainder as 6.
if we add 6,we wont get it.
now we have to find the hcf of 957 AND 609
=>
957 = 3 × 11 × 29
=>609 = 3 × 7 × 29
HCF = 29*3
=>HCF = 81
hence 81 is
he largest number which divides 615 and 963 leaving remainder 6 in each case
hope it helps u

Hey friend here is your answer
your answer is "87"
Explaination
______-
To find the largest number which divides 615 and 963 leaving remainder 6 in each case i.e. HCF.
Consider HCF be x.
In order to make 615 and 963 completely divisible by x,
we need to deduct the remainder 6 from both the cases.
609 = 3 x 3 x 29
957= 3 x 11 x 29
⇒ x = 3 x 29 = 87______answer
∴ largest number which divides 615 and 963 leaving remainder 6 in each case is 87.
I think my answer is capable to clear your confusion
