You also learned the formula for finding the area of any regular polygon if you know the length of one side and the apothem: A = (n × s × a)2 A = ( n × s × a ) 2 , where n is the number of sides, s is the length of one side, and a is the apothem.
Area = ap / 2
Where ,
A represents (apothem) = a line from the center of a side to the centre of the polygon .
P represents (perimeter) the sum of s (sides ) of the polygon .
First we will find the ( s ) sides
= AB + BC + CD + DE + EA
= 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 + 4
= 20
Perimeter
P = S × 5
= 20 × 5
= 100
Area of the polygon
A = ap / 2
= 3 × 100 / 2
= 300 / 2
= 10.5 units
