Interest groups are organisations that attempt to influence government policies. These organisations are formed when people with common occupation, interest, aspiration or opinions come together to in order to achieve a common objective.Example: Trade unions, professional bodies etc. Movements also attempt to influence politics rather than directly take part in electrol competition. They have a loose organisation.Their decision making is more informal and flexible. They depend much more on spontaneous mass participation than an interest group.Example: Narmada bachao Andolan, women 's movements etc.
