                        The K to 12 Program covers Kindergarten and 12 years of basic education (six years of primary education, four years of Junior High School, and two years of Senior High School [SHS].  It  provides sufficient time for mastery of concepts and skills, develop lifelong learners, and prepare graduates for tertiary education, middle-level skills development, employment, and entrepreneurship.

                          The Filipinos were surprised and were not ready for this changed since it was introduced. The first reaction was it will just add to the many years of schooling, thus will hamper the time to find job and support their families especially those are less in life. But then again, Filipinos were able to adapt to it and was successfully implemented throughout the nation. The people in DepEd have high hopes that this program will equipped the students more in their life-long learning.
