The Bambino Festival

Pasig City is one of the cities in Metro Manila, the National Capital
Region of the Philippines. One of the biggest celebrations celebrated in Pasig
is the Bambino Festival. It is the city's version of Sto. Nino Festival like the
Sinulog Festival in Cebu City and Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo. The first
Bambino Festival was held in 2003. This is to highlight the significance of the
Child Jesus in the lives of Pasigueños.
Every year, all of the 30 barangays of Pasig City take part in this
momentous event. First, they prepare beautiful foats carrying different
images of the Sto. Niño weeks before the event starts. Then, on the day of the
festival, people gather in the city proper early in the morning for a grand
parade of the beautiful floats made. Cultural dancers and musical bands
march along as they parade from the City Hall to the Immaculate Conception
Cathedral. All of the images of the Sto. Niño are brought here after. People
continue the celebration in their homes as they prepare sumptuous meals to
share with family and friends.
