Direction: Read this short story carefully. The Tortoise that Wanted to Fly by: Nilda Anayoo There was once a tortoise who was never satisfied. He lived on the sweet grass by the forest pool but he felt very bored. One day, he noticed a large eagle flying overhead. He looked gracefully, flying so easily that the tortoise decided he would learn how to fly too. When the eagle came to rest on a rock near the pool, the tortoise got his chance and said, "Oh, handsome eagle, you fly so well. Please teach me how to fly. The eagle was surprised. "What? Theme: It's impossible for something to be both safe and manageable if you don't have the ability to do so.
How could it have been better?
It could have been better if the tortoise didn't push himself to do what he clearly can't do.
Does it hold the same opinion or perspective of the world as you are?
Yes. I think the world could've been more better if only people know their limits and don't push themselves way too far; especially with the things that they can't do. In this way; they won't be hurt and things won't get worse.
Does the text have anything to do with your personal life? Try to establish a connection.
Yes. It was in the past when I tried to push myself to do something that my abilities can't reach like jumping way too high in a game and instead of winning, I ended up having a wound. It was a lesson for me to never try the things that clearly don't fit my abilities for me to be safe.
