Yes. I have experienced volunteering on civic activities. As a youth in our community, I've volunteered to go to a mountainous place to do community service to a little indigenous school in that area. We brought books, hygiene kits, and school stuff for the kids there who are not given the privilege to have respurces for learning. It was a wholesome experience to be able to extend help especially to those kids who really need our help. In that short period of time that we spent there, it really made a huge impact for the children, but also for us. In addition, I've also volunteered to a tree planting activity together with the DENR in a mountainous place as well. Along with the locals, we wre able to plant at least one hundred trees.
As a normal Filipino citizen, I can say that I may have done small things to be able to contribute and have an impact, but I believe that we don't need to do big things to make a difference for the betterment of our communities. We simply need to do.
