Avoidance of mosquito bites in endemic is only way currently to avoid infection although a vaccine is on the horizon. There are four different types of dengue virus so having been infected does not make one immune against the other three, and in fact may make the subsequent infection more severe. It isn't a communicable disease.
How to prevent it.
1.)Avoid mosquito bites. 2.)Use repellent creams. 3.)Try to cover all your body when outside. 4.)Don't allow water to be stagnant for a long time. 5.)Use mosquito killer sprays.
