The process by which matter changes from one state to another state and back to original state, without any change in it's chemical composition is called as interconversion state of matter.
Two factors responsible for change of state of matter are changes
There are basically 5 states of matter present around us namely:
Solids
Liquids
Gases
Plasma
Bose Einstein Condensate.
Interconversion generally takes place between Solids, liquids and gases because Plasma and BoseEinsteincondensate are found at extreme temperature.
Plasma is found at extremely high temperature. Examples: Thunder lighting, Solar winds, aurora, nuclear fireball, etc.
BoseEinsteinCondensate is found at extremely low temperature. They are found very rarely.
Now, talking about solid liquids and gases:
• Interconversionbetweensolidsandliquids:
→ When solids convert into liquids it is called as fusion. The volume of substance generally remains constant because both solids and liquids have fixedvolume.
→ When liquids convert into gases, it is called crystallisation.
• Interconversionbetweenliquidsandgases:
→ When liquids convert into gases, it is called as vapourisation. Here the volume of substance increases because the gases expand on increasing the temperature.
→ When gases convert into liquid is it called as liquification/condensation. The volume of substance decreases due to decrease in temperature.
Interconversionbetweensolidsandgases:
→ When solids convert into gases, it is called as sublimation. Volume increases very much in this case.
→ When gases convert into solids, it is called as deposition. Volume here increases largely.

The two factors which are responsible for the changes in states of matter are:
Temperature
Pressure
Ininterconversionbetweensolidsandliquids:
▪︎ On decreasing the pressure and increasing the temperature the solid converts into liquid.
▪︎ On increasing pressure and decreasing temperature the liquid converts into solid.
Ininterconversionbetweenliquidsandgases:
▪︎ On decreasing the pressure and increasing the temperature, liquids change into gases and this is the reason why volume of gases increase in this case.
▪︎ On increasing the pressure and decreasing the temperature, gases convert into liquids and this is the reason why volume decreases in this case.
Ininterconversionbetweensolidsandgases:
▪︎ Ondecreasing the pressure and increasing the temperature, solids convert into gases.
▪︎ On increasing the pressure and decreasing the temperature, gases convert into solids.
